Despite recent changes made by the province to Ontario’s Residential Tenancies Act, community advocates say that a renovictions bylaw is still urgently needed. Ottawa City Staff released a report on Monday, seeking City Council’s direction on whether to bring the proposed Rental Renovation License Bylaw to council for a vote. They think the bylaw may no longer be necessary, despite the fact it would provide protections not contained in provincial laws. Somerset councillor Ariel Troster joins Kristy Cameron in Hour 3.
