‘The Golden Generation’ digs in to tell Canada’s men’s basketball story

When Oren Weisfeld set out to write about the story of Canada’s national men’s basketball team, he wasn’t sure how many of the sport’s biggest names would agree to talk.
Instead, Canada’s basketball community embraced Weisfeld’s new book The Golden Generation, with a who’s-who of the sport agreeing to interviews, including reigning NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of Hamilton, Hall of Famer Steve Nash of Victoria, and 10 of 12 members of the 2024 men’s Olympic team.
Polytechnique Montréal is expanding its scholarship program honouring the 14 women who were killed at the engineering school 36 years ago.

Environment Canada has issued special weather statements for much of the Atlantic region as a combination of snow, rain and high winds is in the forecast.The weather agency says between 15 to 35 centimetres of snow is expected to fall across inland Nova Scotia and in elevated parts of the province, especially the Cape Breton Highlands, beginning Tuesday and into Wednesday.
