The skies are bluer on BlueSky

ANNOUNCEMENT

To our loyal supporters,

If you haven’t heard yet, there’s a new social media site called BlueSky. It’s very similar to the original Twitter and is not owned by either Meta or Elon Musk.

After essentially losing our Facebook page 18 months ago due to Bill C-18 and Meta’s anti-client response to it, we have been seeking a capable replacement. We tried X, but unfortunately Musk has allowed propaganda to flourish, even engaging in the dissemination of it himself. Sadly, it’s no longer a safe space, and therefore not a good place for media companies to continue to operate. Many have already made the switch.

As a business dedicated to creating a safe space for political discussion and debate, we cannot support a product or service that does not attempt to do the same.

We have already moved most of our Twitter/X posts to BlueSky and have established a solid home there. In just a few short weeks, we have already surpassed our follower numbers on X. Expanding our reach across Canada and the United States in the process. We will continue to keep our page on X in order to share posts to our site, but our daily news clippings and engagement is now taking place on BlueSky.

If you haven’t made the leap yet, we encourage you to do so and to join us on a much friendlier platform. While there is lots of current affairs and politics of course, there is also a lot of other subjects to explore like art, photography, history, archaeology, science, geography, sports, humour and comedy, nature, animals and much, much more.
