Hour 1 of Ottawa Now for Thurs. March 7th, 2024

March 7, 2024
Safety advocates and experts are calling on the Ontario government to take a closer look at school bus seatbelts. And by that, we mean installing them. This comes after a school bus rollover during Tuesday’s morning commute in Woodstock. 40 students were inside the bus at the time, and one of them was pinned underneath the vehicle after the rollover. Kristy Cameron chats with Ahmed Shalaby, who is a road safety expert and an Engineering Professor at the University of Manitoba. But first, we bring you the latest developments from a tragic scene in Barrhaven, as a community mourns the sudden loss of 6 residents. CTV’s Katie Griffin has more.
