Hour 3 of Ottawa Now for Thurs. April 18th, 2024

April 18, 2024
The pickup truck is a useful, powerful beast on the roads. It can do a lot of important work, and the heavy-duty Canadians who are tasked with doing hefty jobs depend on them. But if you are dropping your kid off at soccer practice, or just shopping for groceries, do you really need one? An advocacy group is suggesting that, if you plan to drive one of these vehicles, you need a special license and the price tag should be bigger to drive one. Is that fair to you? Kristy Cameron tackles today’s Question of the Day. Meantime, hundreds of workers have a bigger load to carry, as they try to help Canada’s seniors live comfortably during their most challenging years. Over at Bruyere Hospital, they have a Geriatric Day Program that is designed to help seniors strengthen their mobility and balance before a serious fall puts them in a hospital bed. Dr. Anne Monahan tells us how it works.
