Hour 1 of Ottawa Now for Wed. April 24th, 2024

April 24, 2024
Effective this Summer, the Ontario government is permanently raising the speed limit on 10 sections of provincial highways. Yes, for all of the GTA commuters out there, this includes Highway 401. However, it also includes Highway 416, where the speed limit has been elevated to 110 kilometres per hour. But is this a good idea? Have we seen positive progress on the stretches of road that have already approved this plan? Overall, will this approach make our roads safer to drive? Kristy Cameron digs deeper with Brian Turner, a columnist with Driving.ca! Meantime, a Toronto couple is just happy to be breathing in Earth’s finest air after dodging a bullet in the Dominican Republic. They were in a tour boat, soaking up the Sun, when it began to sink. Fortunately, they survived to tell the tale.
