Hour 1 of Ottawa Now for Thurs. May 9th, 2024

May 9, 2024
Canada Post is facing a wave of financial restraints, with management admitting that it needs to rethink today’s business model if it’s going to survive. For that reason, the postal service plans to ask the feds to reconsider the present-day legislation, which requires Canada Post to deliver letter mail on a daily basis. If they moved away with this model, how would it impact your day-to-day life? Kristy Cameron chats with Marvin Ryder, an Associate Professor at McMaster University’s Degroote School of Business. Later in Hour 1, we also hear from Jan Simpson, who is the National President of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers. It represents 60,000 of the company's Canada-wide employees.
