The federal government says it is accelerating plans to end the error-ridden Phoenix pay system. Per the latest numbers, as of last month, more than 300,000 of the 425,000 Phoenix transactions had failed to meet service standards. This Includes the 213,000 that were more than 12 months late. The pending solution, according to the feds, is a slew of A.I. tools that would clean up the clogged data and reduce future late payments. Kristy Cameron digs deeper with Stéphanie Montreuil, PIPSC’s Head of Public Affairs and Corporate Communications. Meantime, the Ford government has notified Ontario’s childcare centres that it will implement a new way of funding the national $10-per-day program. Operators have urgently called for these changes, as the current model continues to sputter down the racetrack.
