Hour 1 of Ottawa Now for Fri. May 24th, 2024

May 24, 2024
Ontario’s Premier has good news for you on this sunny Friday afternoon! Well, it depends if you work at a cornerstore or not. Doug Ford says that the sale of beer and wine at Ontario’s convenience stores will be launched ahead of schedule, now slated for a grand unveiling in September. Is this an accelerated timeline that is being rushed way too fast? How are these changes going to impact the day-to-day operations of these convenience stores? Kristy Cameron chats with Kenny Shinn, who is the Head of the Ontario Convenience Association. Meantime, a celebration of life is being held in Buck Bay for three young adults. They tragically lost their lives over the long weekend in a serious boat crash on Bob’s Lake, a collision that also sent five others to hospital. CTV’s Jack Richardson has the latest in Hour 1.
