I’m a proud McGill mom now. But getting my first-born child to select a university was a devil of a job.Don’t get me wrong: My son, Remy, is a conscientious student. He graduated from a Toronto high school this past June and aspires to become an English and history teacher. Remy, 17, is in his first year of university and is finally finding his feet.

Canadian musician Jacob Hoggard is abandoning his bid to appeal his 2022 sexual-assault conviction before Canada’s top court.The Supreme Court of Canada website shows the former Hedley frontman discontinued his application for leave to appeal last Friday.That’s the same day Hoggard, 40, was found not guilty of sexual assault in a separate, unrelated case in northeastern Ontario.
