The memo sent to residents of a long-term care home in Scarborough this summer was clear: “Eavesdropping” with recording devices in resident rooms, it said, will not be tolerated.Employees had been finding an increasing number of surveillance devices installed without their knowledge at the Chester Village Long-Term Care Centre. Sometimes a person on the other end would even surprise an employee by talking to them using two-way audio.
