Winter is coming. So get out and add little sunshine and warmth by staying in shape, hitting the pool, or taking up a new craft or art project at your local City of Ottawa recreation, visual arts or community centre. Check out register.ottawa.ca to find programs or activities for you and your family. Mark your calendars with these important registration dates:
  • Swimming lessons: Tuesday, November 12 at 9 pm
  • All other recreation, culture and virtual activities: Thursday, November 14 at 9 pm
In-person registration begins Wednesday, November 13, for swimming lessons and Friday, November 15, for all other activities. Be sure to check the facility’s business hours before visiting. Does your New Year’s resolution include staying active and in shape over the winter? Our engaging instructors have fitness activities for all ages and all tastes – whether it’s aquafit, yoga, strength training, balance exercise for older adults, learning to skate, cross-country, and racquet sports.   Want to add a splash of colour or music? Discover the arts programs at Shenkman Arts Centre and Nepean Visual Arts Centre for children and adults. Also, explore dance, cooking or other crafts at our community and recreation centres – a great way to connect to new interests and people. If you can’t attend programs in-person, we have virtual programs that strikes the right balance between keeping active and staying at home. We offer affordable and accessible activities for residents of all ages and skill levels in English and French. Our engaging and talented instructors, friendly atmosphere, and quality art studios, gyms, pools, rinks, equipment and other amenities will make any activity an enjoyable experience for you and your family.
