There’s so much fascinating research on how important it is for kids to have friends – better health, mental health, better academic performance, less truancy, not to mention the normal development of independence – but at the same time, there are reports of a huge loneliness epidemic among young people.The Globe’s Dave McGinn is looking to speak with children between the ages of 10 and 17 about all things friendship for a future story. How did they meet their friends? What activities do they do with them? How important are friendships to them?
