Second body found after mudslide last weekend hits B.C. coastline

Squamish RCMP say emergency crews have recovered the body of a second person whose home was hit by a mudslide last weekend in British Columbia’s Sea to Sky region.RCMP say emergency crews recovered the first body last Sunday.The mudslide near Lions Bay, about 40 kilometres north of Vancouver, came down during a severe windstorm that hit B.C.’s south coast and closed a large section of the Sea to Sky Highway.

Ottawa police say 10 people are in hospital and one of them is suffering from life-threatening injuries after a suspected carbon monoxide poisoning case.Police say the fire department and paramedics responded to a call at about 9:15 a.m. at a home on Granville Street in the city’s Vanier district.The local paramedic service says in an e-mail that six adults and four children were treated and transported for potential carbon monoxide exposure.
