University of Guelph sees positive norovirus test as 190 people report feeling ill

An Ontario public health unit has detected norovirus among a group of 190 people reporting symptoms of gastroenteritis at the University of Guelph over the last week.Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health said that the positive norovirus sample arrived Friday, days after a wave of students started reporting gastroenteritis symptoms to the southwestern Ontario school.
The cheques were announced by the government in the Fall Economic Statement and entitle every taxpaying adult, and their children, to $200 each from the provincial government.

A familiar argument broke out at a meeting of a Catholic school board in Ontario this week. A committee of the Dufferin-Peel board was determining whether to uphold a decision to ban the raising of the Pride flag outside its main office. The public was invited to weigh in. Should the multicoloured flag fly?Some speakers said no. It was inconsistent with Biblical teaching. One even called it anti-Christ. Others said yes, of course. Flying the flag was a way of demonstrating tolerance and inclusion, helping protect students from bullying.
