New York terror plot suspect returns to court in Montreal over extradition case

A Pakistani national from Ontario who was arrested in Quebec for allegedly plotting to kill Jews in New York returns to court today.Muhammad Shahzeb Khan, who has been jailed since his arrest on Sept. 4 in Ormstown, Que., is being sought by authorities in the United States to stand trial.

Former Montreal mayor Denis Coderre has officially applied to enter the race to lead the Quebec Liberal Party, but the spectre of a dispute with the provincial tax agency is hanging over his candidacy.Coderre spent the first part of a Friday press conference in Quebec City explaining the current status of his tax problems and threatening legal action against Revenu Québec.
