Manitoba minister’s death sparks cabinet shuffle

Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew has shuffled one of his cabinet ministers and appointed a new one.The change was necessitated by the death last week of Nello Altomare, who served as minister of education and early learning.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford plans to launch a provincial election campaign next week, sending voters to the polls on Feb. 27, a Progressive Conservative party source told The Globe and Mail.There has been speculation for months that Mr. Ford was preparing to call an early election, far ahead of the province’s fixed election date next year.
