Hour 3 of Ottawa Now for Mon. January 6th, 2025

January 6, 2025
For the eighth time in Canadian history, a Prime Minister has stepped aside from his post while in office. For the second time, it’s a man with the Trudeau surname. And similar to Jean Chretien’s exit in 2003, a Liberal caucus revolt proved to be the death blow. Robert-Falcon Ouelette is a former Liberal MP who represented Winnipeg Centre from 2015 to 2019. He says he doesn’t feel that Justin Trudeau delivered a positive leadership culture, and that he offered the Liberal Party a ‘poison pill’ with a short leadership runway. You’ll hear that conversation in Hour 3. And that brings us to the ultimate question: What legacy does Trudeau leave behind? We throw that hot potato to our Political Heat panelists. And then, we take your texts and calls, as Kristy tackles today’s Question of the Day.
