Hour 3 of Ottawa Now for Fri. February 14th, 2025

February 14, 2025
During a typical February weekend, Canada’s former Prime Ministers are usually going for a skate or sitting in front of an open fire. Today is no ordinary day, as U.S. President Donald Trump continues to dream about Canada’s future as America’s 51st State. Canada’s living ex-leaders are now calling on Canadians to showcase their pride on National Flag Day, encouraging them to buy Canadian flags and wave them proudly. Is that something you plan on doing tomorrow, or do you plan on showing your patriotism in other ways? Kristy Cameron sifts through the textboard and tackles today’s Question of the Day. Here at home, ongoing construction continues for Stage 2 LRT, specifically along the western extension of the Confederation Line. It’s having a big impact on several businesses, and the latest stretch of construction could serve as the final straw for some. Lorenzo Bar and Grill owner Gillian Danby says, in order for her restaurant to survive, she will have to move it to another location in Ottawa’s West End. As of right now, she doesn’t know where. Danby pays us a visit in Hour 3.
