Ontario shifts from Pap to HPV test for cervical cancer screening, but no at-home kits yet

Ontario will replace its main method of cervical cancer screening next week to a more accurate and less frequent test, but the dreaded speculum exam is not in the rear-view yet.
Parents of children who attend alternative schools are putting their heads together, as the program faces looming changes. The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board's trustees may vote to cut the entire program, turning five alternative schools into regular schools.

Andrew Furey, the orthopedic surgeon who promised to reinvent Newfoundland and Labrador when he became its Premier less than five years ago, is leaving politics to go back to the operating room.Mr. Furey announced his surprise resignation Tuesday at the Confederation Building in St. John’s, with his wife and three kids by his side.
