The U.S. Department of Government Efficiency cut hundreds of employees at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) last week, including technicians who work with Canadian scientists to monitor water quality and levels in the Great Lakes, which some scientists say will have catastrophic effects.
