Foreign disinformation is a looming threat in Canada’s election. Here’s where it might come from

Canada is at high risk of attack by hostile foreign entities – including possibly from within the United States – attempting to meddle with the federal election by covertly spreading false information online, experts warn.They say the April 28 election is especially vulnerable to disinformation campaigns because of recent tensions in Canada-U.S. relations, the growth of artificial intelligence and weakened guardrails on social media platforms.

It is strange in politics to be looking for an opportunity to demand favours. A short while ago, all premiers were in agreement on "Canada not the 51st state" and "Canada not for sale," but now the Alberta premier is saying that, if her province's conditions are not met, they could hold a referendum.
