As you heard on yesterday’s program, U.S. President Donald Trump plans to implement 25 percent tariffs on all finished vehicles made outside of the United States. Experts fear that this controversial decision, which is scheduled to take effect next Thursday, will dramatically increase costs for both businesses and consumers. As he promised during last year’s U.S. election campaign, Trump is putting America first, even if it means the rest of the world is falling behind. And now, he is threatening to plaster even larger tariffs onto Canada and several E.U. countries should they choose to retaliate. All of this is leaving Southwestern Ontario on edge and placing a major Ontario city in survival mode. We hear from Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens as the show rolls on. Then, we pass the microphone to Brian Kingston, the President and CEO of the Canadian Vehicle Manufacturers’ Association. And finally, you'll hear live reaction from Liberal leader Mark Carney.

Repairs in areas including Orillia and Peterborough could take until Friday.
