NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh promised help for the Canadian auto sector Thursday as the industry faces 25 per cent U.S. tariffs.The NDP is proposing to waive the GST on vehicles made in Canada and ensure the federal government, including agencies such as the RCMP, buy only Canadian automobiles.
John Conway stood against the social structures that disadvantage the poor and working classes, called upon the oppressed to demand better for themselves and their families, and fought for quality education, which he deemed to be a great leveller.“Where is the alternative systemic vision,” Prof. Conway wrote in the socialist journal The Bullet in 2016. Where is “a world beyond capitalism with economic security and a guaranteed future, a world we can embrace and ask our children to embrace, a world we can realize through our democratic collective action?”

NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh promised Sunday that a federal government led by him would offer first-time homebuyers access to low interest loans.Singh said the federal government extends loans to “wealthy developers” but not to “everyday families” and an NDP government would offer low interest loans to those who qualify for a mortgage but may not be able to afford bank rates.
