Hour 2 of Ottawa Now for Fri. March 28th, 2025

March 28, 2025
According to new analysis from the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, the U.S. cities who are most likely to feel the burn of a Canadian tariff counterattack are the ones who are largely responsible for Trump’s resurgence. It’s yet another concerning sign of the political gambles that America’s leader is making by attacking Canadians through economic force. Out of the 41 U.S. metro areas, San Antonio (Texas) and Detroit (Michigan) are feeling the biggest portion of Canada’s pushback. Andrew DiCapua, a Principal Economist at the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, wrote this report. He joins Kristy Cameron in Hour 2. In local news, Ottawa’s Sunshine List for 2024 has been officially unveiled. CFRA’s Chris Holski tells us which of the city’s top figures made the cut. Plus, we await live reaction from Liberal leader Mark Carney and Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre, as U.S. President Donald Trump speaks about his ‘productive’ phone call with Canadian figures earlier today.
