Hour 3 of Ottawa Now for Wed. February 26th, 2025

February 26, 2025
Last month, Ottawa’s largest school board announced a major restructuring of its programs. The proposed changes plan to leave five alternative schools in the dust. Today, parents of children who attend those schools are putting their heads together, desperately trying to save those programs. OCDSB Trustee Amanda Presley joins Kristy Cameron in Hour 3. Meantime, Ottawa Public Health is reminding parents to check their child’s vaccination status, as suspension notices are being sent out to students who have fallen behind on their mandatory vaccinations. Dr. Trevor Arnason, the Interim Medical Officer of Health for OPH, pays us a visit. And as we begin the second-half of today’s program, we have an interesting development on the collapsed Downtown parkade. Coleton Fisher, a Structural Engineer at Capacity Engineering Limited, says it was only a matter of time before something bad happened. He describes the warning signs he spotted during a recent visit.
