N.L. minister defends care homes following auditor’s report that cites deaths, assaults, feces on walls

Newfoundland and Labrador’s acting minister of health says he would have no qualms about putting a family member in a personal care home after an auditor’s report listed assaults and feces-smeared walls among complaints from facility residents.John Haggie says this week’s report on care homes from the province’s auditor general does not reflect the experiences of the residents and families to whom he has spoken.
