Ruth Ellen Brosseau is attempting a political comeback in Quebec, 14 years after she won a surprise victory as a federal New Democrat and became the face of the “orange wave.”NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh says Brosseau has declared her candidacy in Berthier-Maskinongé, a riding she once held that stretches along the St. Lawrence River between the Montreal suburbs and Trois-Rivières.
Toronto police say a driver is facing charges after a fuel hose still attached to his vehicle was ripped from a gas station pump, striking and severely injuring a man in his 60s.Police allege the 26-year-old accused drove away from the pump with the gas nozzle still attached to his Mercedes-Benz on Monday evening.
