The Globe is visiting communities across the country to hear from Canadians about the issues affecting their lives, their futures and their votes in this federal election.The train was mostly empty as it ambled and screeched toward downtown Edmonton around 9 o’clock on an overcast Monday morning.

The city of Edmonton should hire security personnel on EVERY Train and EVERY  station. Too many people are afraid to commute on the LRT with just cause. I drive my grandson to Grant Macewan  every day and pick him up because of the threatening environment on the LRT in downtown Edmonton. Why spend  billions on a service that people are afraid to use. Councillors should take a walk on the wild  side for awhile to get a look at what is going on. Get out of your safe offices and take a look. FIX THIS!!!!
