Canada's former top trade negotiator Steve Verheul says it's likely duties would fall away faster if countries around the world coordinate a response to U.S. President Donald Trump's aggressive global trade war. Speaking on a trade panel at the Broadbent Institute conference in Ottawa, he says Trump’s reversal on reciprocal tariffs proves the U.S. administration can be pressured to back off. (April 10, 2025)
