Benoit Lauzon announced he was leaving his roles as the mayor of Thurso and warden of the MRC of Papineau after Quebec's municipal commission recommended he be barred from office over 'intimate remarks' sent to municipal employees.

The man was pleaded guilty to manslaughter after he pushed a retired stranger over at a Toronto subway station. The victim suffered a hip injury and died from the complications.
