U.S. prosecutors will not seek the death penalty for Canadian accused in transnational drug ring case

Prosecutors say they will not seek to execute a Canadian awaiting trial in the United States for his alleged role in a transnational drug-trafficking ring accused of plotting and carrying out murders in Ontario. Andrew Clark, who is charged with drug trafficking, murder and conspiracy to commit murder, was identified by U.S. Attorney-General Pam Bondi in a February statement as a suspect who could face “death or life imprisonment” if convicted.
Despite pledges by the federal government to shed half of its office space, departments and agencies have been hesitant to sign-off on real estate reductions, according to a new report by Canada's auditor general. Read More
