Hockey Canada complainant tells sex-assault trial she didn’t ask police to reopen investigation

The complainant in the criminal trial of five former members of Canada’s 2018 world junior hockey team told a London, Ont., courtroom that she is not the one who asked police to reopen the criminal investigation into her alleged sexual assault.The woman, who is known publicly as E.M., made the comment during her re-examination by Crown attorney Meaghan Cunningham, who sought to clarify responses E.M. provided to defence lawyers during seven days of cross-examination.
Two men from Ottawa are among 36 people arrested and facing a total of 128 charges in connection with a child sexual exploitation investigation, the Ontario Provincial Police said Thursday. Read More
