The B.C. government has hired an outside consultant for $150,000 to spend six months measuring the outcomes for various services delivered to people in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.Michael Bryant, former attorney-general of Ontario, was hand-picked by Premier David Eby for the task, but the public terms of reference for his contract are vague. The government did not publicly announce Mr. Bryant’s appointment, which began in February, and only confirmed it in response to media reports this week.
