Quebec’s health minister says the province’s public health service is “closely monitoring” the tuberculosis situation in Nunavik, after a letter from Nunavik’s 14 mayors called for the declaration of a public health emergency.

The biggest evacuation order in the province was lifted at 8 a.m. on Thursday, as the barriers into the tri-community of La Ronge, Air Ronge and Lac La Ronge were removed.
