Traffic impacts for Preston Street and Prince of Wales Drive construction

July 7, 2025
Construction is beginning on Preston St. and Prince of Wales Dr. to prepare the area for entrances to the new campus. Lane closures are expected. Left turns from eastbound Prince of Wales Drive to northbound Preston Street will be restricted beginning Tuesday, July 8, as construction work will begin on the roadway entrances to the Ottawa Hospital’s Civic new campus.      Lane closures should be expected along Prince of Wales Drive and Preston Street until the fall. At least one lane will remain open in each direction throughout construction.   As part of this work, the multiuse path on the west side of Preston Street near Prince of Wales Drive will be temporarily rerouted slightly to the west of its current position.   Signage will be in place, speeds along the pathway should be reduced, and increased caution and awareness should be considered; please plan ahead.
