Nova Scotia releases plan on future transport needs for Halifax and surrounding area

The Nova Scotia government has released its plan to address the transportation needs of the most populous part of the province.
Public Works Minister Fred Tilley says the goal of the Regional Transportation Plan is to transform the transportation system for Halifax and those areas within an hour’s drive of the port city.
Ottawa police are seeking public assistance to identify suspects in an Aug. 5 assault in the 8300 block of Forest Green Crescent in the Metcalfe neighbourhood. Read More

OTTAWA — Canadian Armed Forces personnel will get their largest pay increase in more than 25 years, Prime Minister Mark Carney announced Friday, part of the federal government’s plan to improve the military’s capabilities and hit NATO’s spending target.
Carney said Ottawa will spend about $2 billion on the pay increases because soldiers and other military personnel are at the heart of protecting Canada’s sovereignty and their pay should reflect the importance of their roles.
