City commemorates National Peacekeepers’ Day

August 8, 2025

Saturday, August 9 is National Peacekeepers’ Day, a day that honours all Canadian peacekeepers who have served or who are currently serving in peacekeeping operations around the world.

 

The flags at all City of Ottawa sites will be flown at half-mast on Saturday, August 9, from sunrise until sunset, to commemorate the courageous and committed individuals who have given their lives in the pursuit of peace around the world.
