Environment Canada says most of Ontario will feel sweltering temperatures starting this weekend with a multi-day heat event expected to bring a humidex as high as 40.
The weather agency issued the heat warning on Friday afternoon, saying people can expect daytime highs ranging between 30 and 33 C and overnight lows of up to 23 C starting on Saturday.
CUPE says it is looking to raise awareness about what it calls “poverty wages” and unpaid labour when working on a plane when it’s not in the air.
