The lingering affects of the Air Canada strike are still being felt, but the parents of one Sask. baseball team stepped up to the plate to get their kids out east to compete.
It has been 100 days since Prime Minister Mark Carney named a new cabinet for what he called a generational challenge. His election campaign was built on the sense of a country in crisis, under threat from a U.S. president intent on levying punishing tariffs on Canada and undermining its sovereignty – and he promised speedy solutions to daunting problems.There was an initial whirlwind of activity: a stunted session of Parliament, a boost to military spending, Team Canada first-ministers’ meetings, a G7 summit in Kananaskis, Alta., and Mr. Carney’s travels to a pair of summits abroad.

Canada has signed onto a multi-country statement that demands Israel stop banning foreign journalists from entering Gaza and that local journalists be protected in the Palestinian territories.Canada co-founded the Media Freedom Coalition in 2020 and has signed dozens of statements on issues in Hong Kong, Sudan and previously the West Bank.
