Hour 3 of Ottawa Now for Wed. August 20th, 2025

August 20, 2025

As a tragic Summer season unfolds on Ontario waters, calls are once again growing for mandatory swimming lessons in public schools. Where do you stand on this debate? Guest host Andrew Pinsent sifts through the CFRA textboard and tackles today’s Question of the Day. Meantime, labour leaders are calling on the Carney government to change the law that was used to end the Air Canada impasse. They argue that, by forcing workers back to work, the government threatens everyone’s right to strike and sends a direct message to employers that they don’t need to negotiate. Joining us in Hour 3 with her thoughts and analysis is Siobhan Vipond, the Executive Vice-President of the Canadian Labour Congress.
