Massive sinkhole shuts down busy intersection in Toronto's east end

A huge sinkhole shut down the intersection of Coxwell and Cosburn Avenues early on Aug. 28. The City of Toronto said crews were called after reports of a watermain break, which led to flooding, pavement damage and the sinkhole. The area is expected to remain closed for repairs until Sept. 1.
First Nations chiefs in Saskatchewan say they want answers after a forensic audit of the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations concluded more than $34 million of the organization's spending between April 2019 and March 2024 was "questionable," unsupported or ineligible.
