As a way to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday, and part of a broader effort to build ‘Canada’s largest playground’, $2 million worth of funding was injected into Mooney’s Bay. Since that cash injection from 2017, 8 years have passed, and signs of disrepair are already popping up. What happened to the shininess of Canada’s supposed crown jewel, and what could happen next? Talks to update the agreement, known in Canada as CUSMA, are set to start next year but Carney said those talks are unlikely to resolve all outstanding issues.
