Hour 2 of Ottawa Now for Fri. September 19th, 2025

September 19, 2025

Just hours after a prominent Irish rap group was barred from entering Canada, the band members have since responded with bold words and potential legal action. Kneecap plans to take those legal avenues against Toronto MP Vince Gasparro, with 2 shows in Toronto and 2 shows in Vancouver now in limbo. Joining us with the latest developments in Hour 2 is CFRA’s Andrew Pinsent. Meantime, Ontario’s Premier was in Markdale this afternoon for a press conference, and he was asked about the effectiveness of photo radar cameras. Last week, Doug Ford called them a ‘tax grab’, and pulled no punches when asked what he would do next. He said he would encourage municipalities to turn them off, or he would do it himself. Since then, a crowd of Police Chiefs have challenged Ford’s criticisms, saying these cameras do work. CFRA’s Chris Holski analyzes the ongoing tug-of-war.
