Elections BC says billionaire Chip Wilson contravened third-party election advertising rules when he put up signs in front of his Vancouver mansion last year, one of which said the NDP is “Communist.”
A letter to Wilson from Elections BC says three signs he put up in front of his home during the provincial election period a year ago constituted third-party advertising that required him to register under the Elections Act.
Lansdowne 2.0 is headed to Ottawa city council for a final vote after the finance and corporate services committee voted in favour of the nearly $419-million development Thursday.

A high school football player who sustained a severe spinal injury in a game earlier this month died in hospital Wednesday night, the Winnipeg School Division said Thursday.“It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we inform you that Grade 12 student Darius Hartshorne, a lineman for the Sisler Spartans, succumbed to his injuries last night,” the division said in a statement.
