In July 2000, a woman was sexually assaulted and beaten inside a hotel change room in Belleville, Ont. Nearly 25 years later, DNA evidence found on a cigarette butt helped police identify the man responsible.
The budget says new funding will go toward 'digital solutions to maximize efficiency in security screening activities' and developing a new preclearance system for travellers.
