Hour 1 of Ottawa Now for Thurs. November 6th, 2025

November 6, 2025

A few weeks ago, the Ottawa Redblacks fired Bob Dyce as head coach. The expectation was that the search for his replacement would intensify after the Grey Cup was awarded. Days ahead of the CFL Semi-Finals, they’ve found their guy. And they’ve also made him their new General Manager until 2028. That man is Ryan Dinwiddie, who recently coached the Toronto Argonauts to a pair of Grey Cup titles and previously grinded his teeth as a CFL quarterback. Meantime, Shawn Burke has been elevated to Vice-President of Football Operations, signing an extension until 2028. Kristy Cameron brings us up to speed on today’s top headlines. Shifting gears to provincial news, Bill 60 has reached the Second Reading in the Queen’s Park Legislature. Yesterday, however, the Ford government introduced a motion to fast-track the omnibus bill that would bypass committee hearings entirely. This comes as a proposed provincial legislation would bar municipalities from building new bike lanes if they replaced a lane of vehicle traffic, potentially jeopardizing plans to expand Ottawa’s bike infrastructure. Rob Attrell, a Board Member with Bike Ottawa, outlines his concerns. Plus, a teenager has pleaded guilty to several charges following last year's mass murder in Barrhaven. CTV's Katie Griffin tells us what we know so far.
