As of New Year’s Day, changes to the Ontario Fire Code will require increased carbon monoxide alarm detection in residential occupancies and care occupancies. Orleans resident Tracy Knowles, who lives with her two young children, knows the importance of these detectors all too well. Last December, a faulty furnace was leaking carbon monoxide into their house, causing quite the scare but thankfully no injuries. She joins Kristy Cameron in Hour 4. The Hunger Report released by Feed Ontario on Monday says more than one million people needed to access a food bank or hunger-relief organization in the last year and they made more than 8.7 million visits. The report marks the ninth year in a row food bank use has increased and it says food insecurity is impacting housing, health care and communities.
