Some of Ottawa’s police officers are officially wearing body-worn cameras while on patrol, as part of this Fall’s pilot project. On Monday, the Ottawa Police Service deployed 30 Axon cameras, which will be handed to members of the Crisis Intervention Team and designated police sergeants on the front lines. Not only are they wearing body cameras during regular duties, they will be equipped with these cameras when responding to calls involving individuals in crisis.
