Canadian foundation helps Ukrainian soldiers get complex facial reconstruction surgery

In an operating room at the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Clinical Hospital in Ukraine, Canadian plastic surgeon Matthew Brace has removed a piece of rib, as well as a flap of skin from his patient’s forehead, to reconstruct Andriy Djychka’s nose.
Mr. Djychka lost half of it, along with an eye, defending his country on the front lines.

More Canadian residents distrust refugees than trust them, with the lowest levels of trust in refugees expressed by immigrants and non-whites, according to a new national public opinion poll.
The polling data comes as recent changes in the federal government’s immigration policies designed to reduce new arrivals in Canada seems to be hitting refugee claimants the hardest.
